January 2012 Recap

1 Month Down,11 months to go! Here’s my progress so far!

#1 (Run a half marathon) Sign-up for the Garry Bjorklund Half Marathon is in February, its a lottery system, so here’s hoping I get in! Otherwise…I’m open to Half Marathon suggestions! Preferably in Minnesota, and no earlier than June.

#2 (Learn 12 new recipes) There was the Spaghetti Squash, and I did make some ribs and sweet potato fries when Jason was in town, but there was more of a “heat and eat” meal, then it was true cooking.

#3 (Put my college pictures into photo albums) Whenever I get a Walgreens email I think about printing my pictures…..

#4 (Create a race scrapbook) I placed the pictures in the sleeves I had, but there has been no glueing or cutting, must get on it!

#5 (Make 12 time or money donations to various charities and/or nonprofits.) I did meet with my Gustavus chapter contact to discuss events we would like to have in 2012, its a step! If I don’t get into the Garry Bjorklund Half Marathon I will most likely volunteer at Grandma’s Marathon so I can get a feel for it.

#6 (Learn to blog!) Still posting fairly regularly, pretty soon I’ll be able to buy a new camera, (see #9) and then I’m looking forward to more pictures in my posts!

#7 (Finish the New Rules of Lifting For Women program.) I’m halfway through Stage 3!

#8 (Remember to be Thankful.) This month I was thankful for being able to spend time with two different sets of girlfriends. With both groups we were able to relax, have fun, and talk about everything and nothing! I think setting aside time to be with both groups was very beneficial, as it strengthens bonds we have.

#9 (Get a better handle on finances.) Bills are all paid on time! But I haven’t taken any more proactive steps at this point.

#10 (Get least 10 minutes of fitness each day.) I did take a couple rest days, but my overall workout trend is going well!

#11 (Do 5 minutes of clean up each day.) Overall, not bad. However….There are still some bags not put away from my 2 girls weekend trips…

#12 (Take the time to breathe.) This past weekend I tried really hard to not make a plan, and it worked! I got 2 workouts in, went to a comedy night, and enjoyed some relaxing time!

All in all: I’m proud of myself, things are going well, I need to work on the two picture projects, as those have been on my to-do list for over a year!
