30: Continuing

It’s been a week, but it feels much longer than that. While it seems like maybe changes are being made and we are moving towards a better future, there is still a long way to go.

And while everything changes, there are still birthdays to celebrate and graduations to acknowledge. Friday night I celebrated my aunts birthday. We all sat outside, and while its clear that everyone is still stressed about what is right to do and what is too much of a risk, it seemed to go smoothly.

I know we are never going back to normal, but as things change, a new normal is found, and i hope we settle into that new, better normal soon. Because while this change has only been a few months (or weeks), I can see some of the stress on the people around me, and I wish there were more feelings of peace.

How are you?

  1. I’m glad you were able to gather for your aunt’s birthday. Now that it’s warmer, it’s easier to see people as outdoor gatherings feel pretty safe. I am trying to do weekend coffee dates with friends to stay in touch. None of us are phone people and while we exchange texts, it’s not really the same. I’ve had coffees dates the last 2 weekends and they were so good for me.
