Disney Princess Half Marathon 2015: Registered!

Welcome Fall! I’ve stated it a few places, but I plan on restarting the couch to 5k plan in order to bring my legs back to running and to get a better base, and hopefully faster pace. I want to start before the snow falls because…I’ll be completing the Disney Princess Half Marathon in February 2015!

Way back in April 2013 I shared with the blog that I was planning on doing the race, and I’m happy to say that I am now registered! Disney Princess Half MarathonPhoto Source: Run Disney

I will be traveling with three friends from college and we are working on our travel arrangements. We’ve decided to fly in on Wednesday, fly out on Monday. This gives us all day Thursday, Friday, Saturday to do what we like, and Sunday is race day!

We looked at a lot of flight options, but ended up booking Sun Country as they had non-stop flights from Minneapolis to Orlando, with the best price.

Next up is deciding where to stay. We may be able to stay at the Dolphin/Swan through time share points, which would allow us to walk to Epcot!

I opted out of the Glass Slipper Challenge as I would rather enjoy the time with friends, plus, with the money saved we decided to splurge on the race retreat!

Have you ever participated in a Run Disney race? What parts of the race preparation would you like me to share?

    1. Let me know when you decide to do a Disney Race! I’d love to go out to Disneyland! (there’s a special medal if you do both world and land in the same year, but I couldn’t justify the money).

  1. I’m aiming for it in 2016. We’ll see– I’m not a huge fan of running even a 5K so the thought of doing a Half is scary. But if I’m going to do one, doing it through Disney would be ideal 🙂

    1. Exactly! One of the girls in our group isn’t much of a runner, but with all the photo stops, it should be a great time!
