**Somehow I wrote this post and then it deleted…Maybe because wordpress got confused with an older post I did….Click here, for a picture-less description of how I pack.
First I make a pile of clothes (not pictured, because I’m at work and the clothes are on my bedroom floor at home.)
Then I make a schedule, and tag certain outfits. From there I make categories.
Bottoms, Tops and how many sports bras I need (click here for an embarrassing story about traveling and sports bras.
I took a quick look at the weather. It looks like we’ll need some rain gear and cold weather clothes for the evening.
Plus, conference rooms are always a little chilly, so I’ll have at least 1 if not 2 scarves packed!
How early do you start packing for a trip? If you are a late packer, please tell me how you do it!
You are so organized!! I pack early and I write a list like a week before. That way throughout my day I can remember little stuff to pack. Have fun!
I am totally an early packer — at least a week ahead of time ๐
ha, next time i plan a trip i’m going to need you to come over — i usually just throw a bunch of stuff in a bag before i need to leave and cross my fingers ๐
Wow! I always say “i can buy whatever I forgot” except for last year when I couldn’t buy a sportsbra, and this year when I couldn’t buy an ipod holder…so I am extra careful!
I travel a lot for work, so usually I’m pretty good about remembering everything critical. However, on a recent work trip, I forgot pants. ๐ (OK, I wore a dress on my drive, and I had yoga pants and running shorts, but there were no jeans or any other work acceptable bottoms in my suitcase.) So I made a quick trip to Wal-mart (one of the only stores in the small town I was in) and found a pair of Lei Khakis (one of the only non-jeggings / non-capris / non-shorts options). While the khakis worked, they weren’t my usual style, so now, I double-check that I have packed pants! ๐
I would give anything to be as organized as you!!! Good work ๐ I travel a lot and could stand to make a schedule with outfits, that’s a great idea. Looking forward to seeing you friday!!
I always have to make a list of what I need to pack so I can check things off. I start he list early, but I don’t usually pack until the night before a trip.
Once my list is written I stop worrying. Because I can trust myself to get it all packed. But if I don’t have a good list, I’m bound to forget something!
Omg we are packing twins because I do these EXACT steps!!! Only difference is that I check the weather before making the daily list. When I’m packing long term, I’m usually going home, and the weather difference between Connecticut and Louisiana is huge, so I have to check the weather to even know where I should start.
I can’t even imagine being in the south and trying to pack for the east…what a nightmare! I feel like its so much easier to travel south and pack.
