June is over! Which means we are halfway done with the year, and I “should” be halfway done with my goals….Let’s see how I’m doing!
#1 (Run a half marathon) Done!!! I completed the Garry Bjorklund Half Marathon with a time of 2:33:47! You can read my recap here.
#2 (Learn 12 new recipes) I attempted the roasted beets last week, but that wasn’t exactly a success. My Raspberry Mint Lemonade was a great success and I just realized I typed the directions on my phone and never posted. I may just have to recreate it this weekend!
#3 (Put my college pictures into photo albums) I did get a buy 25 get 25 offer in my email, I may have to print some more pictures and get Freshmen Year finished!
#4 (Create a race scrapbook) I might just bring my stuff and work on it over 4th of July! (might is the key word here)
#5 (Make 12 time or money donations to various charities and/or nonprofits.) Hmm…I’m not certain that there was a donation in June. Although I wish I would have be available to volunteer in the relief efforts of the Duluth Flood.
#6 (Learn to blog!) Still working at it!
#7 (Finish the New Rules of Lifting For Women program.) I actually am considering re-starting my gym membership as the times I am likely to workout on the weekends (aka middle of the day) are too dang hot.
#8 (Remember to be Thankful.) Due to traveling and distance between my apartment, home, and friends, I was especially thankful that I got to celebrate my birthday a few different times with different groups of people. They are all so important to me!
#9 (Get a better handle on finances.) I don’t know about you…but this was a 3 paycheck month for me! Woohoo! And in addition, I have been more open to Craigslist and second hand stores for a few items I am lusting after.
#10 (Get least 10 minutes of fitness each day.) Well…..that needs to be worked on. Apparently my half was 16 days ago, I think my body is properly “recovered.”
#11 (Do 5 minutes of clean up each day.) I did take 5 minutes to unpack my bags from the weekend, I really should’ve spent a much longer time though.
#12 (Take the time to breathe.) I actually have had a few realizations in the last few days and will be making a few changes to the way I chose to spend my time.
Overall: I’m officially done with #1. I have started a page that recaps my “do 12” goals of donating and cooking, and I am a little under half way there! The 2 scrapbook type activities are not where I want them to be, I should have done more in January/February, but there is still time! As for the daily activities: blogging, thanking, cleaning, breathing, working out, I need to continue with them. And the big finances situation isn’t getting any better as I avoid it, but I’m not spending like crazy on a credit card, so for now its okay.
While I am thankful for each month’s recap, when I realized a few days ago that I needed to type this I thought “Crap! I hope I’m doing okay”. And clearly I am. I have started a new goal list that I’ll share with you soon!
Until then, I hope to be outside enjoying life as much as possible!
