May 2012 Recap

#1 (Run a half marathon) I am 16 days away! I really need to confirm my plans for what time I’ll be waking up, and other logistics. But I am very happy with how well training has been going!

#2 (Learn 12 new recipes) I don’t think I’ve made anything new this month. But I did buy and try the Vitacoco Coconut Water with Pineapple which I have previously blogged about, and it is still the drink of choice during my long runs!

#3 (Put my college pictures into photo albums) The photos I had previously printed are in the album! Now I need to print the second half of freshmen year through senior year. I sat down and did it one Saturday and it maybe took an hour.

#4 (Create a race scrapbook) Bahahaha. Not so much.

#5 (Make 12 time or money donations to various charities and/or nonprofits.) I actually donated some money to a sweet old man for a Veterans fund last weekend! I was not thinking of the resolution at the time, but I’m glad I did it!

#6 (Learn to blog!) I’m trying to blog regularly, and post from my phone on the days that I can’t sit down at the computer and get a full post out. But I’m not thrilled with the blackberry app for wordpress, hopefully when I upgrade my phone I’ll be more satisfied.

#7 (Finish the New Rules of Lifting For Women program.) Umm…I just might be amending this resolution. I do plan on going back to it when I start my gym membership again, but that won’t be until its too dark for me to be outside.

#8 (Remember to be Thankful.) Due to traveling and distance between my apartment, home, and friends, I was especially thankful that I got to celebrate my birthday a few different times with different groups of people. They are all so important to me!

#9 (Get a better handle on finances.) I had a very weak moment in April where I almost bought something that didn’t fit into the budget. Thankfully Duluth has limited shopping and the item I wanted I wasn’t willing to buy online. Crisis averted!

#10 (Get least 10 minutes of fitness each day.) The last full week of May had me traveling for work, which resulted in not running for a full week. However I did get in a walk most of those days. So I’m not overly upset. One thing I am going to try and add into my daily life is 10 sit ups and 10 push ups. I’m hoping that small change will do something for me.

#11 (Do 5 minutes of clean up each day.) I did find the mysteriously hidden kindle charger last month. But in truth the organization is not quite there right now. (I’m looking at you pile of clothes in the hidden corner of the bedroom).

#12 (Take the time to breathe.) I’m very proud of how I called on certain friends for help when life got a little crazy. I’m breathing as best as I can, and choose to not add certain stress in my life (aka the week with no running).
